Fast Arrest in Robbery Attempt

THUNDER BAY – CRIME – Thunder Bay Police uniformed officers responded to a 911 weapons call at the Prince Arthur Hotel just after 2:30AM EDT on April 9, 2017.

Police state that what happened according to a witness statement was that a thirty-seven-year-old male was outside the hotel having a cigarette when he was approached by another male who asked him

for a cigarette. When the victim refused to give him one, the male pulled a knife out and threatened him with it and then left the area. Officers arrived within minutes and apprehended the suspect without incident in the area of Cumberland Street and Park Ave.

Twenty-0ne-year-old Cody Beardy was charged with Robbery, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Weapons Dangerous and Breach of Probation.

Cody Beardy appeared in court yesterday and was released to a future court date.
