THUNDER BAY – This Tuesday, January 31, the Lakehead University Student Union stands in remembrance with the victims of the tragic Mosque attack in Quebec City. We condemn this terrorist attack on Muslims at their place of worship and stand in solidarity with the victims and families affected by this hateful and senseless act of violence.
This event will take place at 6:45pm in Thunder Bay Masjid. All members of the community are invited to attend and show their support for our Muslim community.
“My heart goes out to the victims and families of this act of terror”, said Farhan Yousaf, VP of Operations and Finance. “I wish a speedy recovery to all those injured in this senseless act of violence.”
To our fellow Muslim students and the Muslim community at large, who are facing violence and injustice, we are here to support you and stand by you during this time of mourning and healing.
Here are details of an open, public Remembrance Prayer hosted by the Thunder Bay Masjid called Unite-Remember-Pray, this evening.
