THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – Road conditions are expected to be variable over the coming day as snow and snow squalls will impact the north shore of Lake Superior.

Snow squall warning in effect for:

  • Wawa – Pukaskwa Park

Snow squalls are expected. Under the snow squall bands, visibilities will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow combined with blowing snow, and snow will quickly accumulate.

Snow squalls are expected to develop this morning.

Local snowfall amounts of 15 cm are likely before the snow squalls shift south this evening.

Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations. Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.
