OPP Lay Impaired Charge Following Hwy 61 Accident

Ontario Provincial PoliceThe Ontario Provincial Police report that on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at approximately 2:10AM EST, patrol officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 61.

At the scene, the first responding officer spoke to the driver. The officer determined the driver had been consuming alcohol. The driver was then transported to the OPP detachment for further tests.

As a result, a thirty-one-year-old male from Greenstone, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

-Operate a Motor Vehicle With Over 80 mgs of Alcohol contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.

The individual will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on January 9, 2017, to answer to the charge.
