THUNDER BAY – The City of Thunder Bay is continuing the process of cleaning up from the weekend snowfall. Roads Crews are dealing with as much as 12 inches of snow which was on the ground in parts of the city. Getting on top of the snow clearing had many residents frustrated with road conditions over the weekend and into Monday.
The Roads Department report, “Plowing of residential streets in the South has been completed and it is expected North residential areas will be completed by noon today. Some arterial routes and collectors have been identified with intermittent snow/ice packed surfaces, and crews will return now to address them. Increasing temperatures over the next few days will help to make removal of this packed ice/snow easier.”
Thunder Bay Transit stops which were blocked off by snowbanks are also being cleared making it easier for passengers to load and unload from buses.
Sidewalk clearing is also ongoing across the city.
