Sioux Lookout Home Assault Nets Twenty Charges

OPP Ontario Provincial PoliceSIOUX LOOKOUT – The OPP Sioux Lookout detachment report that three residents from Deer Lake First nation are charged following what appears to be a violent home invasion. The three persons face a total of twenty charges including Assault, Assault with a Weapon, Forcible Confinement and Assault causing Bodily Harm.

The incident happened early Sunday morning at a Seventh Avenue home in Sioux Lookout.

The OPP report that two people inside the home were assaulted in the incident, and that one was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

OPP say twenty-eight-year-old Lori Blackhawk, twenty-one-year-old Kendra Meekis and twenty-year-old Miranda Aysanabee have all been charged with assault with a weapon, forcible confinement and assault causing bodily harm.

All three remain in custody and will appear in court on Friday.

-two counts of uttering threats (cause death of bodily harm)
-mischief under $5,000
-possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
-break and enter

20-year-old Miranda Aysanabee of Deer Lake First Nation
-assault causing bodily harm
-assault with a weapon
-forcible confinement
-break and enter

Police are continuing their investigation.
