Dryden is under a Winter Storm Warning

THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – Environment Canada has updated their Winter Storm Warning for Thunder Bay. As of 06:00AM EST, the Weather Service says that 20 to 35 cm of snow and blowing snow are expected today.

So far in the city, it has been in the form of rain.

Winter storm warning in effect for:

  • City of Thunder Bay

Hazardous winter conditions are expected.

The snow has begun across areas west of Lake Superior and move into areas north of Superior this morning. The snow is expected to become heavy at times this afternoon and continue into the evening. Latest indications suggest that most regions will receive 20 to 35 cm of snow by Saturday morning.

In addition, strong and gusty northerly winds will generate blowing snow reducing visibilities.

Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.
