THUNDER BAY – NEWS – At approximately 05:00AM this morning Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to a equipment garage fire on west Arthur Street.

First arriving crew encountered a large metal equipment garage that was fully involved and had collapsed onto the earth moving machinery and tractors that were contained inside.

Pre-connected attack hose lines had to be doubled up to reach the fire that was quite a distance from where the Pumper had to park.

Water was applied until the fire was knocked down, and a water /foam solution applied later to aid in extinguishing the tires that were burning and spot fires.

A total of three Pumpers with thirteen firefighters were on scene to battle the fire.

The cause is under investigation at this time.
