Bantam A & peewee Queens heading to All-American Girls tourney

Thunder Bay Queens are on the road again this weekend

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Thunder Bay Tim Hortons bantam A Queens along with their peewee counterparts will be in Blaine, Minn., this weekend to compete in the 24th annual All-American Girls tournament at the Schwan Super Rinks.

Each squad will play two round robin contests before the clubs are reseeded based on their won-loss record.

The Thunder Bay bantams open up Friday at 6:20 p.m. as they take on the Eastview Lightning from Apple Valley, Minn.

That will be followed by a 2:25 p.m. match-up with the Forest Lake Rangers Saturday.

As for the peewee Queens, they’ll commence competition Friday as well with an 8:15 p.m. meeting with another Minnesota side, the North Wright Country Riverhawks.

They will take then face-off against the Andover Huskies at 10:40 a.m. Saturday.

There are 12 teams taking part in both the bantam A under-15 and peewee U-12 divisions.

The playoff round will commence Saturday evening while the semifinals and consolation games go Sunday.
