FORT FRANCES – NEWS – Minister of Municipal Affairs Bill Mauro announced the government’s support through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) for the following projects today during his Northwest tour:

  • A new production facility at Titan Manufacturing in Alberton to construct roof and floor trusses, which has helped create 15 new jobs for local residents
  • Expanded storage facilities at Brielmann Agriculture Ltd. of Morley Township, which has helped local farms within the Rainy River district increase productivity in grain processing.
  • Helping locally-owned small businesses grow is part of our plan to create jobs, grow our economy, and help people in their everyday lives.

“Investing in small businesses in the Fort-Frances-Rainy River district is an important part of our plan to help Northerners in their everyday lives. Today’s investments are helping to grow the economy and create good jobs for local residents,” states Bill Mauro, Minister of Municipal Affairs.

“Investments through the province’s Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation are helping spur economic growth and create jobs in every community in Northern Ontario including the Fort-Frances Rainy River District. The NOHFC plays an important role in the Growth Plan for Northern Ontario and delivering on its commitment to grow the Northern economy”, shared Michael Gravelle, Minister of Northern Development and Mines, and Chair of the NOHFC.

“The funding I received from NOHFC was a huge part of expanding my grain-handling and storage facilities. It helped my business grow to size where I am efficient and competitive with other operations. The staff at NOHFC were very helpful as I worked through the application process and different stages of the program,” comments Timo Brielmann, Owner, Brielmann Agriculture Ltd.

“Titan has had a very successful first two years of business. We currently employ 15 people from the local community and expect to expand on that next year. We are a vibrant, growing company, providing jobs and growth in the local community, and we are here today because the NOHFC saw potential in our business plan. We are thankful for NOHFC’s assistance and staff who helped us through the application process,” says Brian Hagarty, General Manager, Titan Manufacturing.
