THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Wednesday that English River Miners forward Sidney Gladue has been named its CCM Hockey performer of the month for October.
In 11 games last month the 20-year-old Wabasca, Alta., product had points in 10 of them helping the surging Miners go 9-2 in that span.
Gladue scored eight times in October and dished out 15 assists. It also included seven contests in which he had multiple-point nights.
Currently riding a four-game point streak the English River co-captain has also etched his name on the scoresheet in 11 of his past 12 outings.
He also leads the SIJHL in overall offensive production with 25 points in 13 games on nine tallies and a league-high 16 helpers.
Also earning consideration for the SIJHL’s CCM Hockey performer of the month award was Eric Stout, (F) Dryden GM Ice Dogs; Nathaniel Dupuis, (G) Thunder Bay North Stars; Connor Smith, (F) Thief River Falls Norskies; Jared Virtanen, (F) Fort Frances Lakers and Logan Froberg, (F) Minnesota Iron Rangers.
