THUNDER BAY – Community – Youth from the Limbrick neighbourhood in Thunder Bay are taking action to move their lives forward in a positive direction. Working with the Limbrick Tenants Association and Peter Panetta from the Underground Gym the youth are stepping up their physical fitness.

Over the coming weeks, under the careful training of Peter Panetta the youth will be learning both responsibility and skills in the boxing ring.

The LTA Youth Council is working toward empowering themselves. Members of the Youth Council are working to get each other to school during the day, and assisting each other with homework as well.

With help from the Underground Gym the LTA Youth are taking positive steps forward.

Following the training session, the youth enjoyed pizza, some time to cool down and unwind. The level of positive energy and enthusiasm from the youth was very encouraging.

Moving forward the youth are working toward more activities and more opportunities to move both their often troubled neighbourhood, and themselves forward in health, science, music and environmental wisdom.

The goal which is off to a great start is to empower the youth into learning teamwork, and learning the importance of school and looking to build their futures.
