Now in its 4th year, the Wig Wars has evolved and grown to become Thunder Bay’s biggest drag competition. Performers from all spectrums of the drag world are invited to show off their talents to a supportive and enthusiastic audience. This year featuring 10 contestants (or Wig Warriors), the show combines elements from traditional beauty pageants and talent shows with influences from the Emmy Award winning reality TV show, RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Each queen and king will compete in up to 4 rounds and demonstrate their talents in 5 categories: performance, appearance, choreography, audience interaction and stage presence. In round one, “Express Yourself”, each drag will perform a number to a song that best represents their drag persona. For Round two, “Dead Divas & Lifeless Legends”, each contestant will perform a song where the original singer of that song has passed away. The 2 queens and 2 kings with the highest scores will move onto round three, “Lip Sync For Your Life”, where they will perform side by side in an all out, winner take all, lip sync battle for the crown. The winner of each lip sync battle will be crowned and move onto round four, “Your Are A Champion” where they will perform a number to celebrate their victory. There will also be audience lip sync battles with prizes to be won throughout the show, special guest performances and much more.
