Prisoner Escapes from Thunder Bay District Jail

THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay Police Service are currently in the area of the Thunder Bay District Jail looking for an inmate who escaped from the facility at 09:16AM EDT on October 11 2016.

The escapee is a forty-eight-year-old Caucasian male. The male is described as being 5’9″ tall with a medium build. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a white t-shirt and blue boxer shorts and socks. He was seen heading southwest towards Dawson Court on foot from the District Jail.

The Ontario Provincial Police K-9 unit, and Emergency Response Team are also in the area assisting with the search. For the safety of the students, St. Ignatius is currently on hold and secure.

Anyone who may have seen this male is asked to immediately call 911.
