Thunder Bay Fire Rescue on Brodie Street East

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to a structural fire on Stapleton Street in Westfort last night.

At approximately 22:35 on September 17th Thunder Bay Fire Rescue was dispatched to the structural fire on Stapleton Street.

Upon arrival crew members found heavy smoke emitting from the rear of the house. A size up by the officer indicated that the fire was concentrated near a window at the rear. His crew then breached the window and knocked the fire down. Conditions were improved within the building immediately and entry was made to fully extinguish the fire as well as to search for fire victims. The building was found to be vacant.

Damage to the building is heavy with the interior being charred throughout.

This fire required a second alarm be called upon arrival of the first unit. In total 5 pumpers and a ladder truck attended. Total manpower was twenty-two fire fighters including the command officer.

There were no injuries incurred at this fire and TBFR is currently on scene securing the building for investigators.
