THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – Labour Day Monday is wet and rainy for much of Northwestern and Northern Ontario. Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for several parts of the North.

Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Fort Hope – Lansdowne House – Ogoki
  • Webequie
  • Pickle Lake – Cat Lake
  • Wunnummin Lake
  • Summer Beaver – Kingfisher Lake
  • Fort Hope – Lansdowne House – Ogoki
  • Webequie
  • Attawapiskat

Rain continues Monday, Environment Canada says, “A slow-moving front is lying across Far Northern Ontario today, triggering showers and the odd thunderstorm. A developing low pressure system over Minnesota this morning will track along this front today and tonight. It will bring a more general rain, falling heavily at times. Total rainfall amounts of 20 to 40 mm are likely in most areas with some localized higher amounts of 50 mm possible by the time the rain tapers off tonight.”
