THUNDER BAY – NEWS – On August 28th just after noon, Thunder Bay Police were called to the intersection of Court Street and River Street following a motor vehicle collision involving a pickup truck and a pedestrian who was operating a motorized wheelchair.
The pickup truck, driven by a sixty-seven-year old Thunder Bay man, was turning left from Court Street to travel westbound on River Street and collided with the seventy-one-year old Thunder Bay man who was on a motorized wheelchair within the crosswalk.
The seventy-one-year old male was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
Thunder Bay Police Service collision investigators attended the scene and the intersection was closed to traffic while evidence was gathered.
Investigators are asking that anyone who may have witnessed the collision, and who haven’t already spoken to police, to contact the Thunder Bay Police Traffic Section at 684-1276.
The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
