THUNDER BAY – The Canadian Lakehead Exhibition 2016 is in the history books. The CLE presented a lot of fun, and a lot of entertainment, and enjoyment for the youth and the young a heart.
Through the eyes of a child, the CLE remains a place where the rides, bright lights, experiences and aromas remain new and thrilling.
When you really come down to it, the midway rides present a lot more excitement for the younger set than they do for the older crew. But the CLE offers a lot of fun for young people of all ages.
Once you have your wristband, or your ride tickets, it is time to head over to the midway.
During CLE 2016, our coverage is to put you in the eyes of the youth who are seeing and enjoying the CLE.
The fun of the CLE is engaging the entire family in the event. From moms and dads, grandparents or uncles and aunts, making sure that the kids have a lot of fun makes the time at the fair go by really fast.
For the youth, a first or second time attending means that the kids are experiencing the rides or the food along with the atmosphere for the first time. That in itself is actually a great way to enjoy the day at the CLE.
From different vantage points, the kids see the different attractions and plan their next steps.
There is of course all of the lights and sounds too. The CLE Midway offers that enticing mix of rock music, the midway barkers trying to snag you and of course some of your dollars to try your luck.
There are some people who express the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition needs lots more to make it fun. For me, watching the 2016 CLE through the eyes of a child, I realize that the fun, joy and enjoyment are there in plenty.
Maybe that is what is really important after all.
