Cleaner and Busier in Downtown Fort William

THUNDER BAY – Downtown Fort William has become noticeably cleaner. The downtown neighbourhood, and especially Kam River Park have witnessed a noticed drop in litter over recent weeks.

The City of Thunder Bay has also made some long needed improvements at Kam River Park. First off at the bridge underpass walking train there have been repairs completed to lower the storm sewer which now will allow water to drain under the bridge. This means pedestrians don’t have to navigate large puddles or in fall and early spring the dangers of ice.

Kam River Park
During the afternoon on June 21 the park was not busy. It may take some time for residents, and tourists to “re-find” and start enjoying the park again.

Additionally, the lights in the Kam River Park which for the past three years did not work, are now working making the park much safer at night.

Further there certainly appears to be a much needed improvement in cleaning up not only in the downtown but at the Kam River Park as well.
