THUNDER BAY – After a wild night of weather, with lightning and thunder across the southern parts of Northwestern Ontario, Thunder Bay will see a more moderate day today.

Environment Canada is forecasting sunny conditions early this morning then a mix of sun and cloud with 40 percent chance of showers late this morning and this afternoon. Winds will be west 20 km/h becoming northwest 40 gusting to 60 this afternoon. The forecast High is 23c. The UV index 7 or high.

During the height of the storm, there were several aircraft landing and taking off at Thunder Bay International Airport. The spectacular looking storm certainly ensured that anyone who might not have known why this city is called Thunder Bay, were made well aware of why.
