THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is doing a community survey on violence.

Violence and abuse are used to maintain power and control over another person. Some examples are neighbourhood violence, physical violence, sexual violence, gender-based violence and elder or child abuse.

This community survey is being conducted by the Thunder Bay District Health Unit in partnership with the Thunder Bay Crime Prevention Council and the Thunder Bay Drug Strategy.

The goal of this survey is to understand people’s experiences or knowledge of violence and abuse. The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. The information you provide will be used to help us identify what needs to be done in our community to reduce harm from violence/abuse and prevent it from happening. The survey also asks a few demographic questions which will help us to categorize information according to neighbourhood, age and gender etc.  All survey responses are anonymous, and will be kept confidential and stored in a secure location.
