THUNDER BAY – NEWS – The Thunder Bay Police Service have issued an advisory regarding a High Risk Offender who is residing in our community:

This advisory is in the interest of public safety.

Arthur Joseph LYONS (D.O.B. August 1, 1951) will be residing in Thunder Bay’s south core as of May 16, 2016.  LYONS has been released on Parole from the Bowden Institution in Alberta after serving over three years for Sexual Interference and Failure to Comply with a Probation Order.   LYONS is under the supervision of the Federal Parole Board – Thunder Bay office.

A condition of LYONS’ parole is that he is not have unsupervised contact with children under the age of sixteen. Based on the sum of this information, we believe that this individual represents a significant risk.

LYONS Description:

  • 64 years old male
  • 5’5” tall – 145 lbs
  • Metis
  • Brown eyes – Brown hair

This advisory is being issued to provide information necessary for public safety.  This release is in accordance with the authority granted by the Police Services Act – O’Reg 265/98, Sec 2(1)(2).
