THUNDER BAY – Dry conditions have brought a Thunder Bay city-wide burning ban into effect.

Thunder Bay Fire Rescue issued the ban this morning. “Please be advised that beginning at 0800 hrs Sunday May 8, 2016 all fire permits have been suspended until further notice and no open burning will be allowed in the city. The ban on open fires is also consistent with a recent Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forests Restricted Fire Zone declaration.”

Fire Chief Day Hay says, “We appreciate the communities cooperation and will advise when the suspension of permits and the fire ban is lifted”.
