KENORA – The search for a fourteen-year-old girl in Kenora has ended in tragedy. The Ontario Provincial Police report that a body located at about 4:30PM CDT near where Azraya Kokopenace was last seen is that of the missing teenager.

The search extended through the day Sunday, and the OPP had called in for more resources including the provincial dive team to explore the water near the area the young woman had been seen.

Kokopenance’s body found by the Bear Clan Patrol who were assisting in the search.

The provincial coroner was on the scene as the body was recovered, and an autopsy is being planned.
