THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay Kings board of directors have announced the names of those who will serve as head coaches for each of their four teams for the 2016-17 season.
Back at the helm for a second campaign of the major midget, under-18 side will be Rob Degagne.
Moving up to take the reins of the minor midget, under-16 Kings will be Omer Belisle, who will guide the bantams into the all-Ontario championship next week in Rockland, Ont.
The current peewee bench boss, Ed Atwill, will also move up a level and take over the bantams next season.
Stepping in as the new head coach of the peewees in 2016-17 will be former Lakehead University Thunderwolves standout netminder Chris Whitley.
This year’s edition of the peewee Kings will travel to Sudbury for the provincial championship April 4-8.
Both of the Kings midget clubs will once again compete in the North American Prospects Hockey League in 2016-17.
The Kings will also host two Showcase tournaments in December as well as February of next year at Fort William First Nation Arena.
