Police Make Arrest in Series of Robberies

THUNDER BAY – CRIME – Thunder Bay Police have made an arrest in what many called a serial robber series of incidents.

P16020885 – January 6, 2016 Robbery of Domino’s Pizza at 863 Red River Road
P16025190 – February 4, 2016 Robbery of Frankie’s Pizza at 109 Regina Ave
P16025210 – February 5, 2016 Robbery of Tim Horton’s at 390 Cumberland St. North
P16025213 – February 5, 2016 Robbery of Mac’s Store at 915 Red River Road

A 33 year old Thunder Bay woman was taken in connection to a number of recent robberies in the city’s north end.

TBPS Community Response Team members took the woman into custody without incident near her Sequoia Drive home this morning at approximately 10:30AM EST.

The Community Response team had been investigating a series of robberies which occurred between December 2015 and February 2016.

Following the arrest, the woman’s home was searched with the assistance of the Emergency Task Unit.

The investigation is ongoing.

The charges include:

Robbery (3 counts)
Robbery Using a Restricted or Prohibited Firearm (2 counts)
Disguise With Intent (5 counts)

The thirty-three-year old woman will appear in court via video on Saturday. The accused’s name can be released following her 1st appearance.
