NIPIGON – “I am pleased to announce that temporary repairs on the Nipigon River Bridge have been completed and the span will open to two-lanes of traffic at 10 am on Thursday February 25th.

“Our government’s priority has always been the safety of the public,” added the Minister. “The investigation into the cause of the January 11th incident is ongoing. I look forward to sharing the results of the investigation as soon as possible. We encourage drivers to continue to exercise caution and obey all signs while travelling through the construction zone”.

“I’d like to thank local residents, motorists, travellers and communities for their patience and understanding during the repairs. I’d also like to thank the Minister of Transportation, Steven Del Duca and his ministry for their hard work to meet their commitment to re-open the lanes by the end of the month,” concluded Minister Gravelle.
