THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police were busy on Friday. At 10:08PM EST uniformed officers were called to the Polish Legion on Simpson Street. Police had received a call of a male with a handgun. Officers were able to take the man into custody without incident.

A replica handgun was seized from the suspect. Police report that they are continuing their investigation.

Earlier in the day, at 5:19PM officers responded to an assault in the 300 Block of Arundel Street in Current River.

Officers also responded to an assault in the 500 Block of McTavish Street that happened at 9:41PM EST.

At 10:13PM EST officers responded to another assault in the 800 Block of Red River Road.

A north-side home robbery resulted in the robbery suspect using pepper spray on the victim. The incident on Antonisen Avenue, was reported to Thunder Bay Police at 10:21PM EST. The victim was taken to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. The investigation is continuing.

At 11:39PM EST Police responded to an Assault in the 500 Block of the Harbour Expressway.

There were a pair of incidents in the 500 Block of Victoria Avenue East, first at 02:31AM EST there was a disorder. Then at 12:03AM EST at the same location officers responded to another disorder.

Over the past thirty-six hours, Thunder Bay Police Service responded to 62 incidents.
