THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay minor and major midget Kings are off to Troy, Mich., Wednesday for their final round of the North American Prospects Hockey League play this weekend.
Both clubs have five games scheduled starting with contests Thursday before finishing up Sunday as they wrap-up participation in their first season in the NAPHL.
The major midgets open up under-18 play Thursday at noon as they take on the St. Louis Selects.
Friday sees the U-18 squad take to the ice twice, starting with an 8 a.m. encounter vs. the Arizona Bobcats before wrapping up the day against HC Dallas at 2:15 p.m.
The Green Bay Gamblers provide the opposition for the U-18 Kings Saturday at noon before they finish up with a 7 a.m. start Sunday when they tangle with first place Omaha AAA.
As for the minor midgets, the Pursuit of Excellence from Kelowna, B.C. will be their initial opponent in a contest that begins Thursday at 4:15 p.m.
The San Diego Jr. Gulls meet the under-16 Kings Friday at 10 a.m.
Two U-16 affairs await the minor midgets Saturday as they face-off with HC Dallas at 8 a.m. before wrapping up the day vs. the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights at 6:15 p.m.
The Kings final NAPHL U-16 game goes Sunday at 1 p.m. when they take on St. Louis.
