THUNDER BAY – NEWS – The Transportation Safety Board is starting the task of investigating what exactly happened with Wasaya Airways Flight 127. The Cessna Caravan aircraft lost radio contact on Friday. A search and rescue team located the aircraft late Friday.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) is deploying a team of investigators to the site of a fatal accident involving the Wasaya Airways Cessna 208 Caravan near Pickle Lake, Ontario. The TSB will gather information and assess the occurrence.

A report will be generated.

Right now likely there is a lot of speculation as to what happened. The TSB will gather facts and make a determination as to the cause of the accident, and in their report will make determinations to likely prevent similar accidents in the future if possible.

The TSB is an independent agency that investigates marine, pipeline, railway and aviation transportation occurrences. Its sole aim is the advancement of transportation safety. It is not the function of the Board to assign fault or determine civil or criminal liability.
