MISHKEEGOGAMING – NEWS – On Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at approximately 8:30 p.m., the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service (NAPS) Mishkeegogamang Detachment received a report of a residential fire.

The NAPS North West Region Crime Unit have been assigned to investigate and have requested the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police Identification Unit, and the Ontario Fire Marshall.

NAPS reports, “This is an ongoing investigation, however at this time human remains are confirmed to have been found at the scene and a post-mortem examination has been scheduled in Toronto at an unconfirmed date. Foul play is not suspected at this time.”

Mishkeegogamang First Nation is located approximately 315 km northwest of Thunder Bay.
