THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – A storm is forecast to come into the far north in Ontario that will bring freezing rain and impact travel conditions.

Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Big Trout Lake – Kasabonika
  • Peawanuk
  • Fort Severn – Washaho Cree Nation
  • Sachigo Lake – Bearskin Lake

Freezing rain likely tonight or Tuesday.

A band of freezing rain ahead of a warm front is expected to form across parts of Far Northern Ontario tonight. The freezing rain will change over to rain at Big Trout Lake overnight, and in remaining regions near Hudson Bay on Tuesday as the warm front moves through from the south.

Travelling conditions may become difficult due to icy surfaces as a result.
