Cat Lake Man Charged in Drug Bust

Crime Report Thunder BayCAT LAKE FIRST NATION – On Friday, November 06, 2015, the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service (NAPS) Intelligence Unit assisted by the Anishinabek Police Service, NAPS Emergency Response Team, and NAPS Cat Lake Detachment members executed a search warrant in Cat Lake First Nation.

As a result of the investigation police seized several ounces of Cannabis Marihuana with an estimated northern street value of three thousand six-hundred ($3,600.00) dollars. Police also seized two thousand eight-hundred ($2,800.00) dollars in Canadian Currency.

Twenty (20) year-old Trevor OOMBASH of Cat Lake First Nation has been charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.

OOMBASH has been released on conditions and will next appear in court on February 9, 2016, in Cat Lake, Ontario.

Cat Lake First Nation is located approximately 550 km northwest of Thunder Bay, Ontario.
