Thunder Bay, ON – ENTERTAINMENT – After a lengthy hiatus, Thunder Bay progressive metal band, The Vilification will be making a comeback on Friday, October 16 at Black Pirates Pub (215 Red River Road). Hosted by Wiggins Productions, the night will feature Vilification’s founding members plus new drummer, Dan Racco (Sad Hotel / John Daniels). Opening the show will be local acts Femur (metal), Isolate Peaks (hardcore) and Android 16 (post-rock).

BAND BIO – The Vilification is a progressive metal band formed from the collaboration of Eric Niemi and Eric Morettin in 2007. The band took off in 2009 with full force; playing show after show with an aggressive and technical approach to their music. They are best known for their down-tuned and percussive sound that is quintessential to the modern metal subgenre of “djent”.

The Vilification recorded and released their first EP titled “You Can’t Force Fate” in 2012, and experienced multiple line-up changes as well as a hiatus following this release. In 2014, The Vilification took to the studio in aims of recording new instrumental material to showcase as future audition templates. Soon enough, the pieces fell into place and led Daniel Racco (drums), and returning frontman Ben Tranter to the group. The Vilification is set to release their latest EP “Dimensions” in 2015, and return to the stage firing on all cylinders.
