Pair of Fires Keep Thunder Bay Fire Rescue Busy

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Thunder Bay Fire rescue report that at approximately 2:30AM EDT this morning large amounts of smoke being seen in the area of the 300 block of N. May St. were reported to Thunder Bay Fire and Rescue.

Upon arrival the first unit discovered an enclosed double axle trailer fully involved in fire.

Crews managed to control the fire before it spread too closely adjacent buildings. It was determined that the trailer is owned by Red’s Overhead Door .

Then at approximately 4:20AM EDY this morning, Thunder Bay Fire and Rescue received reports of a garage on fire at 467 Merrill St.

First arriving crews found a garage at the back of the property fully involved in fire. The fire was brought under control quickly however the garage and contents were destroyed and an adjacent fence and trees sustained damage.

In both fires investigations are under way to determine the causes of the fires.  Fortunately in both cases no injuries were reported.
