THUNDER BAY – UPDATED – Thunder Bay Police Service currently as of 20:00EDT have May Street South between Donald Street and Arthur Street under a lockdown. There are a number of police units from Thunder Bay Police Service along with CP Rail Police.

At 19:45EDT the Robins location on the corner of Arthur and South May was shut down and customers advised to depart the location via Simpson Street.

Police report “A lone male was seen waving and pointing a handgun at the witnesses in the area of May and Arthur St. The male was located in an apartment in the vicinity. After a brief standoff the male was taken into custody. A second male was also arrested pending further investigation”.

No injuries occured during the incident.

A CP Rail Police unit arrived on the scene and and officer armed with a rifle entered the apartment building on the northeast corner of May and Arthur Streets.
