Motor Vehicle Accident Sends Six to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – There was another motor vehicle accident at Fort William Gardens. Thunder Bay Police Service report, “At about 12:30 this afternoon (20 August 2015) a collision involving two vehicles at the intersection of Miles St and Vickers St sent six people, the female driver, and five children to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre by ambulance with what turned out to be minor injuries”.

Police Officers have determined that a silver Jeep Liberty SUV operated by a forty-one-year old female driver, was travelling northbound on Vickers Street and went through a red light.

The Jeep then struck a silver Volkswagen minivan that was eastbound on Miles Street squarely on the right side of that vehicle, toppling the minivan. All airbags were deployed and the occupants needed assistance in being removed from the vehicle.

A forty-six-year old female driver of the Jeep has been charged with the red light violation.
