THUNDER BAY – UPDATED – A collision just east of Thunder Bay on Highway 11.17 has claimed the life of two people. The accident had the roadway near the left turnoff onto Lakeshore Drive closed down to one lane while OPP Officers were investigating the accident scene.
The Ontario Provincial Police have released the names of the two people who died on Sunday in a multiple vehicle accident on Sunday. OPP report that eighty-three-year-old Izidore Borgo and eighty-one-year-old Marie Borgo died in the accident after suffering serious injuries.
There is another passenger who has been taken to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre with what police state are non-life-threatening injuries.
Names of the deceased person has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
