THUNDER BAY – Bruce Hyer says “Its easy being Green”. The incumbent MP is seeking a return to Ottawa as the Green Party representative in Thunder Bay Superior North. “I look forward to the next 76 days of discussion and debate with the people of Thunder Bay – Superior North about the issues that are important to them, and who they feel is able to best represent them in Ottawa!,” states Hyer, the Deputy Leader of the Green Party.

“The campaign is now in full force and we are asking the people of Thunder Bay – Superior North: Whom do you want your MP to work for? I will work for my constituents and give them the respectful, effective, hard-working government they deserve. With more Green MPs in a minority Parliament we will have influence and clout, working across party lines, as I just showed by persuading all parties to agree to creating the Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area with tens of millions of dollars and many jobs for North of Superior,” said Mr. Hyer.

“Canadians deserve a government that delivers on long-term and sustainable jobs, a sustainable and expanded public health system, electoral reform, and real leadership in confronting the climate crisis. They deserve MPs who put constituents ahead of party, setting aside hyper-partisanship. Mr. Harper is done, and in 11 weeks we will have a new and better minority government, where there is a good chance that the Green MP’s will hold the balance of power.”

Today marks the first day of an 11-week election.

Hyer states, “In Thunder Bay – Superior North the Green Party will run a respectful, cooperative campaign”.

In a media statement the campaign team states, “We will be reminding voters of Bruce Hyer’s seven years of effectiveness in representing the people of Northwestern Ontario in Parliament since his election in 2008. MP Hyer has introduced more legislation to the House of Commons than all previous MP’s from this riding combined.”

The fully-staffed Green Party campaign office for Bruce Hyer MP and Christy Radbourne (candidate for Thunder Bay – Rainy River) is centrally located at 947-A Memorial Ave. (807 344 3222).

Hyer concluded, “We are the only party with a complete and written platform. Vision Green is online for all to read.”
