RED ROCK – This run should be on every runners bucket list! The 33rd Annual Paju Mountain Run registration is now open. The race celebrated its 30th year in 2012 and is looking forward to 30 more years of conquering the 11.2km course. The start/finish line is outside the recreation centre and leads walkers and runners up, up, up 715 ft to the top of Paju Mountain. The Paju Mountain Run boasts one of Northwestern Ontario’s most unique and challenging road races. The non-competitive event begins at 8:30, these participants are not timed, and the race at 9:00am. The Thunder Bay Metre Eaters time clock will provide participants with accurate race times. Runners will have the opportunity to use the Recreation Centre showers to cool down and clean up after their rewarding accomplishment of completing the course. An awards ceremony and luncheon begins at 12 noon at the Royal Canadian Legion, 41 Salls Street in Red Rock.

The early registration draw will be two weekend passes to the Live from the Rock Folk Festival August 7 – 9, 2015. How much?
For those who register early the cost is only $35, if you are interested in purchasing a 33rd Annual Paju Mountain Run commemorative Technical T-Shirt the cost for registration and T-Shirt is $50. Registration after July 30 at 3pm will be $40, and a commemorative Technical T-Shirt may not be available for purchase.

Red Rock is truly a hidden gem along the north shore of Lake Superior. If you leaving the city of Thunder Bay travel 100 km east and go south on hwy 628 off and enjoy the 8km drive into the community. The winding roadway into the community is surrounded by mountains and opens up with a beautiful view of Lake Superior, the Red Rock Marina Centre and Pul-a-Long Park. The waterfront area hosts the annual Canada Day Celebration for the region, Live from the Rock Folk Festival held in coordination with the Paju Mountain Run, the Red Rock Fish and Game Club’s Annual Trout Derby in June and Ice Fishing Derby in March.
