Camp Quality Blog – Day Six
By Connor McKinnon & Noah Bertoni
Hello, our names are Connor and Noah. I’m Connor, I’m 14 years old and this is my 7th year at Camp Quality. And I’m Noah, I’m 11 years old and this is my 4th year at camp. We are going to be talking about day 6 of Camp Quality.
Today we woke up to the wonderful song called Fixer Upper from Frozen. After we woke up, we headed off to breakfast. Today we had pancakes and sausages which was AMAZING!!
After the wonderful breakfast we set off to our annual tennis tournament. Connor and his Companion Vince scored runner up (2nd) also congratulations to Braeden and Daniel on coming in 1st.
Then Noah and his Companion Ian did not so well but had fun! Some campers also made bags in the Craft Shack with special guest Karen.
After the excitement in the morning, we had lunch…tomato soup and grilled cheese with salad. After lunch we had toes up for one hour so everyone was rested up for what came next. We played a game called CQ Takedown. CQ Takedown is Camp Quality Capture The Flag! It was super fun and exciting. Also it was RED vs GREEN! Fortunately the Red team won! (We were both on that team)
Then off to the beach for swimming and tubing. People from around Loon Lake started their engines and during the tube rides we fell of plenty of times. After the tubing we had a water fight with everyone at camp down by the beach. It was fun and the water was cold!
Then there was supper. We had tacos! They were very good but I think my cabin might be a little smelly after that supper. After, we played Minute to Win It which was hosted by the kitchen volunteers. Sadly we got hit by a huge rain storm but we got to finish eventually and it was a great time.
After the game, we had our Camper Awards. It was a really emotional time for all the campers because the Companions made an award for their camper based on all their skills and personalities. Noah was super excited to hear that he won the Quinten Spirit Memorial Award for being so positive and helpful a camp. After all the tears and hugs we got ready for a DANCE PARTY! Michael Porter from Partie Sound came and we had a BLAST! We danced our butts off, danced all night and had so much fun.
Just as exciting was the annual fireworks show from Fireworks Unlimited which was Super Amazing! The fireworks represent the last day of camp. Everyone sits by the good old camp fire and relaxes after a super exiting day!
Then we hit the blankets and WENT TO BED! Goodnight!
This is the fourth year that NetNewsLedger.com has hosted the Camp Quality Northwest blog. We are pleased to support the work of Camp Quality, and the ongoing battle to beat cancer. On a personal note, cancer has taken both of my grandparents, it tried to take my mom. There are few people in Northwestern Ontario who are not impacted by cancer. When cancer takes on children, it is time for us all to rally to help them.
