A Dream about a Scotty Cameron Putter…Changed Matt Marshall’s Life
THUNDER BAY – SPORTS – A rough week in Saskatoon had Mackenzie Tour – PGA TOUR Canada professional Matt Marshall ready to give up the game of golf. The Portland Oregon native, talked to friends, talked to family and basically had decided to quit.
“I almost gave up the game,” stated Marshall talking to media after his blistering -8 score of 64 at Whitewater Golf Club. “However I had a dream that I needed to buy a new putter”.
From Almost Quitting to Co-Leading Staal Open
Instead of quitting, he headed down to Golftown, spend a couple of hours there, choose a new putter and has been on fire since.
Marshall’s round included nine birdies, and one bogey. His three putt on the 16th fired him up to birdie the 17th and 18th holes and push him into a tie with Canadian Michael Gligic of Burlington Ontario.
The story is a classic golf story of not quitting but reaching inside to find your inner strength.
