THUNDER BAY – SPORTS – The Thunder Bay Border Cats fell hard Saturday night in baseball action. The Border Cats fell 7-1 to the St. Cloud Rox Saturday night at TbayTel Park in the last game of the home stand.
The loss brings the Cats overall record to 19-20.
Starting pitcher Julian Loret de Mola (Nova Southeastern) took the loss for the Cats after pitching five innings allowing five runs on nine hits. Newcomer Jimmy Murphy (Fordham University) came in for two innings giving up the last two runs on three hits while Kenny Glover (Savannah State) and Connor Zamora (Texas Wesleyan) closed out the final two scoreless innings.
The Cats one run came off the bat of Dan Rizzie’s RBI single (Xavier University) to bring home Grant McKown (Florida Tech) in the third inning.
The Border Cats begin a four game road trip with a two game series in Rochester at 1:05pm CST / 2:05pm EST at Mayo Field.
