OPP Ontario Provincial PoliceTHUNDER BAY – The OPP report the two missing boaters have been located safe and sound.

Two fishermen, part of a charter group who had been staying on the west end of Lake Nipigon have been reported missing. A fifty-four-year old from Woolwich Township along with a fifty-seven-year old from Toronto were last seen on July 1st in the morning. They are not subjects of a search and rescue effort with the OPP.

The Ontario Provincial Police first attended the scene early on July 2nd, after the boaters were reported overdue.

The search has ramped up with the OPP helicopter and members of the Northwest Region Emergency Response Team (ERT). There are more resources for the search arriving today.
