Accident in Couchiching Closes Frog Creek Road

FORT FRANCES – NEWS – A motor vehicle accident has closed off access to Frog Creek Road in Couchiching earlier today. There were two vehicles which ended up submerged in Frog Creek.

Early reports were that two people were safe, but details are still forthcoming in the accident that has the Treaty #3 Police and OPP involved. Frog Creek has been closed to boater traffic following the accident as an OPP dive team from Orillia was expected to arrive lat this afternoon.

Emergency responders included the Treaty #3 Police, the OPP and the Couchiching Fire Department. The OPP has legal jurisdiction in the accident. This is because Frog Creek legally comes under Transport Canada’s Navigation Protection Act.
