THUNDER BAY – UPDATED – Storm Watch is over….

 

Weather conditions remain prime for thunder storms in many parts of Northwestern Ontario including Thunder Bay.

A storm earlier this evening knocked down trees and thunder from the storm was extremely loud and scared a lot of pets.

Special weather statement in effect for:

  • City of Thunder Bay

Thunderstorms with gusty winds and hail likely.

Scattered thunderstorms ahead of a cold front are crossing the region this evening as expected. Some of these thunderstorms could bring gusts to 70 to 80 km/h as well as frequent lightning and heavy downpours. Pea to dime sized hail is also possible.

Environment Canada is monitoring this situation closely.

The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and warnings as warnings may be required or extended.
