THUNDER BAY – MINING – Kenora Member of Parliament Minister Greg Rickford is Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources. Minister Rickford says that despite less than favourable market conditions that work on the Ring of Fire mining project is continuing. The Minister provides an update on mining, as well as efforts underway in Northwestern Ontario to improve drinking water in Northern Communities.

Minister Greg Rickford sat down by phone with NetNewsLedger for a discussion on issues that the Conservative government is working on across Northern  Ontario.

Efforts toward development of mining across Northwestern Ontario are continuing.

The Minister was also in Wakekeka First Nation recently. The school in the community burnt down, and officials with the federal government, First Nations leaders and stakeholders including of course the Wakekeka Chief and Council were seeking solutions to save the school year.

Those discussions, Minister Rickford reports are moving in a very positive direction.
