FORT WILLIAM FIRST NATION – The Pan Am Games Torch relay got started at the Pow Wow Grounds on Mount McKay on the Fort William First Nation at 06:00AM this morning.

FWFN is proud to be the first torch relay community stop outside Toronto during the Canadian journey for the Pan Am flame. 

Pan Am Flame Journey Starts at Fort William First Nation

Torch Runners were Lenny Pelletier Sr.-Elder and Deven Boucher-Hilton-Youth.

The Sunrise Ceremony began at 6:00 a.m. at the new Pow Wow grounds located on Mount McKay-Anemki Wajiw; Winner of the City of Thunder Bay’s Clean, Green and Beautiful Award and Lake Superior Magazine’s Best of Lake Award. 

Following the Sunrise Ceremony the Pan Am flame was lit, Lenny Pelletier was the first runner as the Pan Am Torch left the Pow Wow Grounds.
