Take your Shot at a Million Dollar Golf Shootout

THUNDER BAY – ENTERTAINMENT – The Staal Foundation Open (SFO) organizers are excited to host the Staal Family Foundation Million Dollar Shootout as part of their 2015 event schedule.

At the qualifying events for the Million Dollar Shootout, participants will pay $5.00 for 2 shots or $10.00 for 5 shots in an attempt to get closest to the pin to qualify in their region. Each area will produce one lucky participant that will travel to Thunder Bay to be a part of the Million Dollar Shootout Saturday, July 18, hosted on the 18th green following play at the Staal Foundation Open event.
There will be a host of prizes for participants and all funds raised will go to support families and children battling cancer. Along with the opportunity to compete for the $1 Million prize, finalists from each area will also be given an entry into the Can-op Official Pro-Am, provided accommodation as well as VIP passes to the event.

Local and regional golf courses will host qualifiers in their communities. The events have been grouped into the six areas as follows:

REGION

#1 – Marathon, Manitouwadge

#2 – Terrace Bay, Nipigon and Geraldton

#3 – Fort Frances, Atikokan,

#4 – Kenora, Dryden, Red Lake and Ear Falls

#5 – Thunder Bay

#6 – Staal Foundation Open last chance qualifier

“We are really excited and looking forward to hosting the Million Dollar Shootout at this year’s event. Not only will we be bringing people from the region into our city but we will also be helping to raise money for a great cause,” said Scott Smith, Executive Director of the SFO. “This will create a fun and exciting atmosphere and will add another element of entertainment to the event.”

In Thunder Bay, the Staal Family Foundation Million Dollar Shootout will take place at the following locations and dates:

June 5 – Northern Lights Golf Course – 3:00 – 7:00 p.m.

June 6 – Dragon Hills Golf Course – 2:00 – 7:00 p.m.

June 7 – Centennial Golf Course – 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

June 13 – Chapples Golf Course – 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

June 14 – Whitewater Golf Club – 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

June 20 – Thunder Bay Country Club – 2:00 – 6:00 p.m.

June 21 – Emerald Greens Golf Course – 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

June 27 – Strathcona Golf Course – 9:00 a.m. – 2 :00 p.m.

June 28 – Fort William Country Club – 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

July 13-17 – Staal Foundation Open (Whitewater Golf Club) – 2:00 – 6:00 p.m.
