THUNDER BAY – The Ontario Provincial Police are in the midst of investigating the discovery of the body of a deceased person. Uniformed members of the Thunder Bay OPP were called on Wednesday evening at about 8:00PM EDT following the discovery of a dead body of a man in a white Ford truck on a bush road near Shabequa.

The vehicle discovered was about 1km south of Highway 17 on a bush road eight kilometres west of Shabequa.

OPP stated that a post mortem will be held to confirm the man’s identity.

Thunder Bay OPP were called Wednesday night at about 8 p.m. following the discovery of a dead man in a white Ford truck on a bush road near Shabaqua.

The truck was found about 1 km south of Highway 17 on a road about 8 km west of Shabaqua.

OPP report that the discovery came when, “A couple were checking their minnow traps in the area when they came across the vehicle.”

OPP had been searching in the area for a missing man from Thunder Bay but had suspended the search efforts.
